Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency personal statement
Paragraph 1- what inspired you to enter the field of dentistry? (1 sentence) What is your mission and what keeps you going? (4 sentences) (Your mission should correlate with your inspiration). Lastly what program are you applying to? (1 sentence). Paragraph 2- List 2 roles you’ve performed in dental school that has prepared you for dentistry and answer the following questions: what lessons did you take away from that role? How did it impact your growth as a dental student? What did you gain from the role(s) that you can apply to your AEGD residency program? (This is not a glorified CV section. It could be a leadership role or a volunteer role). Paragraph 3- Same questions as paragraph 3, but instead of roles, use 2 clinical experiences. Paragraph 4- In one sentence, describe how the 3 years you’ve spent in dental school have shaped you. In two sentences, describe 2 tangible qualities you will bring to the program/ why you should be chosen. (Please do not say hard work). Conclusion- In 2 sentences, say what you want to do with your residency training in the futuraqwe, and why you need this program to get there.
