Sociology of Power and Women’s Rights History
In order to write a solid paper topic, do the following: A. Choose a topic of interest to you that falls under the broad umbrella of our course theme — Women’s Rights as Human Rights The topic is : (At some point in humanity’s early history, women were equal to men, if not superior. The paper evaluates the social evolution of women in relation to the sociology of power.) B. Conduct some initial research to gain some basic understanding of your chosen topic C. Write two paragraphs double-spaced (12 point font) that include the following elements: 1. Information about the chosen relevant issue—what is the issue of interest; you can include quantitative data; 2. Your research question(s); state what you want to find out about; 3. Why is this topic important to research from the perspective of women/society/the world; 4. Cite all sources; give full details of non-course sources (author, title, publication, date, URL); Do NOT plagiarize Then : Preliminary Bibliography Instructions: Preliminary Bibliography (5%): Each student will submit a preliminary bibliography for your research paper containing ten sources. o These sources must include: ▪ 5 peer-reviewed academic sources (academic journal articles, books, and book chapters). ▪ 3 credible news sources (e.g., The New York Times); and ▪ 2 policy sources (e.g., US government, the UN, or a think tank).
