Vocal stereotypy is defined as any occurrence by a participant of repeated sounds, grunts or hums not related to environmental events. The independent variable in this study is DRO (Differential Reinforcement of Other Behavior) Differential Reinforcement procedure, in which the reinforcer was given as a reward in the absence of target behavior. Use tokens, sweets, preferred activity and a card “quite voice” The purpose of this study is to potentially explore the effect of applying the DRO procedure (differential reinforcement of other behavior) on the reduction of unwanted vocal stereotypy. As a participant in the study a 9-year old student Maria with an autism spectrum disorder was tested, with a high-frequency manifestation of undesirable behavior that interferes with the acquisition of skills and socialization. Maria has been studying in the resource class. The child is non verbal, uses the PECS alternative communication system, and a small number of gestures. The study has been conducted in the resource class. Vocal stereotypy manifests itself in the form of indistinct muttering, with a gradual increase in volume and laughter, dropping objects from the table is often observed, less often falling to the floor and laughing. The behavior has a different duration (fraqwom a few seconds to 2-3 minutes)
